Kegon-ji Temple, also known as Tanigumisan Kegon-ji, is a historic temple in Ibigawa, Gifu, famed as the 33rd and final stop on the oldest pilgrimage route in Japan, the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage. This revered temple features a significant Important Cultural Property, a standing statue of Bishamonten, and a unique 'kaidan-meguri' (underground passage) experience. Visitors can also find a bronze koi statue used for 'shojin otoshi' (a traditional vegetarian meal). Located a 5-minute walk from the Tanigumiyama bus stop (25-minute bus ride from Yoro Railway Ibi Station), the temple is especially beautiful during the cherry blossom season in early April and the autumn foliage.
