Juodo no Yu is one of Nozawa Onsen's thirteen free public bathhouses. Located a short walk from the central area, this bathhouse features separate baths for men (2nd floor) and women (1st floor). A unique feature is the outdoor area where visitors can boil their own onsen tamago (hot spring eggs). The water is known to be quite hot, sourced from the mixed waters of the Ogama. Open from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM between April and November, and from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM between December and March, it's a great way to experience the local onsen culture.
