Hokame Temple in Hokuto City, Hokkaido, is renowned for its magnificent 300-year-old weeping cherry tree (shidarezakura), a highlight of the Hokuto Cherry Blossom Corridor. While the temple itself is relatively modern, the stunning cherry tree draws visitors from afar, especially during the full bloom. The temple offers free parking and is located near the Ono River cherry tree avenue, making it ideal to visit both in one trip. Be aware that the temple can get crowded during peak season, but early morning visits offer a more peaceful experience. The best time to visit is when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, typically around late April to early May.
