The Mobara Peony Garden cultivates 2,500 peony plants of 250 varieties across its 5,000 square meter field. Located in Mobara, Chiba, the garden is accessible by taxi (15 minutes) or bus (10 minutes + 5 minute walk) from Mobara Station, or a 20-25 minute drive from the Mobara-Kit or Mobara-Chonan interchanges on the Ken-o Expressway. The best time to visit is late April to early May when the peonies are in full bloom. The garden also features a traditional nagayamon gate and farmhouse, both designated as Registered Tangible Cultural Properties of Japan, with the farmhouse offering light meals and tea. Entry is ¥700 for adults and junior high students, ¥200 for elementary school students, and free for preschool children.
