Hōjōbō Hinata Yakushi is one of Japan's three great Yakushi temples, dating back to 716 AD. Located in Isehara, Kanagawa, it's accessible by bus from Isehara Station. The temple is known for its principal image of Yakushi Nyorai and numerous Important Cultural Properties. The main hall, with its striking thatched roof, underwent extensive renovations completed in 2016. The surrounding area is beautiful year-round, but especially stunning in mid-September when the cluster amaryllis bloom near the Hinata Yakushi bus stop. Don't miss the treasure hall to view important cultural properties. The temple is a serene escape into nature and history.
