Okunoin Shishinkaku is a temple located on the summit of Mount Minobu, accessible via the Minobusan Ropeway (1-minute walk from the summit station). Known as a place where the monk Nichiren is said to have reminisced about his parents, it offers stunning views and a serene atmosphere. The temple features notable structures like the Niomon gate and is surrounded by towering cedar trees, some planted by Nichiren himself. Visitors can reach the temple via the ropeway for an easy ascent or hike the historic pilgrimage trails. The mountaintop location provides a refreshing escape, especially pleasant during warmer months. Note that the last ropeway departure is early, so plan accordingly.
