Choshoji Temple, established in 1586 by Kobayakawa Takakage, is a Shingon Buddhist temple located a 15-minute walk from Takehara Station. It was built to commemorate Kono Michinao, the lord of Yuzuki Castle in Iyo. Visitors can explore a mini-Shikoku Pilgrimage with 88 sacred sites on the mountain behind the temple, completing the circuit in under 20 minutes. The temple grounds offer a panoramic view of Takehara's preserved townscape. The current main hall was built in 1962, and the temple also features Konpira Shrine, Daishi Hall, and Koshin Hall. Don't miss the charming "Three Wise Monkeys" stone statues at Koshin Hall.
