The Idojiri Archaeological Museum, part of the "Jomon World of the Star-Falling Central Highlands" Japan Heritage site, showcases artifacts from the Idojiri ruins at the southern foot of the Yatsugatake Mountains. See pottery, clay figurines, and stone tools excavated from the area. A highlight is the flame-style pottery from the Sori ruins, once displayed in Paris and featured on a Japanese postage stamp. The museum is located a 15-minute walk from Shinano-Sakai Station on the JR Chuo Main Line, or a 15-minute drive from the Kobuchizawa IC. Don't miss the Jomon-themed merchandise available for purchase. Consider visiting in the morning or afternoon to fully appreciate the exhibits.
