Shinshū-ji Temple, located in Hida City, is a historic Jodo Shinshu temple a 10-minute walk from JR Hida-Furukawa Station. Known as one of the temples in the 'Santera Mairi' pilgrimage held every January, it features an impressive main gate and a serene temple grounds. The intricate carvings of the Kirin, dragon, and turtle on the main hall are masterpieces crafted by Hida artisans. The contrast between Shinshū-ji Temple and the vermilion Imamiya Bridge over the Araki River creates a picturesque scene. The temple also houses a unique rotating scripture library. While visiting, take note of the beautiful pine trees and the temple's large roof.
