Kongorinji Temple Garden (Myojuin) is a nationally designated scenic garden located in Aisho, Shiga Prefecture. This stunning garden, part of Kongorinji Temple, features a pond-style strolling garden that masterfully incorporates the natural beauty of old cedar and pine trees. The garden is composed of three distinct sections dating from the Momoyama, early Edo, and mid-Edo periods. Don't miss the vibrant autumn foliage, especially around the "blood-stained maple" near the main hall. The garden is accessible by bus from Hikone Station (with a special shuttle bus during peak foliage season) or by car via the Meishin Koto Sanzan or Hikone IC. Admission fees are ¥600 for adults, ¥300 for junior high students, and ¥200 for elementary school students.
