Tanjoin Temple, located in Kashima City, Saga Prefecture, is the birthplace of Kōgyō Daishi Kakuban, the founder of the Shingi Shingon sect. Visitors can experience the temple's serene atmosphere and learn about its historical significance. The temple was originally established in the early 15th century by Ashikaga Yoshimitsu but was later rebuilt in the early 20th century with the support of the Nabeshima clan after being destroyed in the Sengoku period. Key attractions include the main hall (Kondo). Experience a sutra transcription (Shakyo) on the 28th of each month for ¥2,000, or participate in a fire ritual (Goma Kigan) also on the 28th for ¥1,000. The temple is accessible by bus from Hizen-Kashima Station.
