Hie Shrine, also known as Hie Jinja, is located near Hiyoriyama Park in Sakata, Yamagata Prefecture. The shrine is noted for its unique Sanno Torii gate, distinguished by a triangular roof, and its Zuijin-mon gate, which was rebuilt in 1907. The characters on the Hie Shrine sign at the entrance were calligraphed by Saigo Takamori. The main hall, constructed in 1784, features intricate carvings.
