Hagoromo Shiraito Falls

Overview

Hagoromo Shiraito Falls, located near Hagoromo Bridge in Hayakawa, Yamanashi, is a serene natural attraction. A statue of Omandokoro, a concubine of Tokugawa Ieyasu who lifted the ban on women entering Mt. Shichimen, stands before the falls. Considered the female counterpart to the Ohtaki Falls further in, it offers a picturesque scene, especially beautiful during the fresh green season or autumn foliage. Access is about 65 minutes by car from Kofu Minami IC or 50 minutes from Tomizawa IC. Note that parking may involve a small fee, potentially waived with a purchase from a nearby fruit shop. Be prepared for a short climb back up the stairs after visiting the falls.
