Shiroishi Castle, also known as Masuoka Park, is a reconstructed castle offering a glimpse into the history of the Katakura clan, retainers of the Date family. The castle grounds served as the site for the Ouetsu Reppan Alliance during the Boshin War. Visitors can explore the reconstructed castle keep and enjoy panoramic views of Shiroishi City. The park is especially beautiful in spring, with over 200 cherry trees in full bloom. Located a 10-minute walk from Shiroishi Station or a 10-minute drive from the Shiroishi Interchange, the castle is easily accessible. Don't miss the Shiroishi Castle History Exploration Museum for a deeper dive into the castle's past.
