The Eizenji Temple Gate, located in Yurihonjo, Akita Prefecture, is a notable cultural landmark and a fine example of late Tokugawa period architecture. Once the family temple of the Rokugo clan, former lords of the Honjo domain, the gate is easily accessible, a 15-minute walk from Ugo-Honjo Station. The impressive gate, constructed in 1865, features striking Kongo Rikishi statues on either side. While the four-sided murals within the gate's upper level are not typically open to the public, they are considered valuable cultural assets. The gate is designated as an important cultural property of Akita Prefecture.
