Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is dedicated to Sugawara Michizane, revered as the god of learning. Located a 5-minute walk from Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station, the shrine is famous for its beautiful plum blossoms, irises, and camphor trees that adorn the grounds throughout the year. The main hall, a significant cultural property, was rebuilt in 1591 and is currently undergoing renovations with a temporary hall in place for worship. Visitors can enjoy seasonal festivals and events, such as Uso-kae and Onisube in January, Kyokusui no En in spring, and the Shinkoshiki ceremony in autumn. The shrine offers barrier-free access with wheelchair-accessible facilities and rentals.
