Suhara-juku, a former post town on the historic Kisoji Road, offers a glimpse into traditional Japan. While not heavily commercialized, the town retains its old-world charm with preserved houses featuring latticed windows and unique water troughs (mizufune) used by locals. Don't miss the impressive Joshou-ji Temple and the remains of the 'kagiya no tsuji' (hook street). Suhara-juku is easily accessible from Suhara Station on the JR Chuo Main Line. It's a peaceful destination to experience a quieter side of Japanese history.
