Togakushi Shrine Okusha is the main shrine of the Togakushi complex, steeped in Japanese mythology. It's dedicated to Amenotajikarao-no-Mikoto, the deity who opened the Iwato cave where Amaterasu Omikami hid. The shrine is known for bestowing blessings of good fortune, wish fulfillment, abundant harvests, and success in sports. The 2km approach is highlighted by a stunning avenue of 400-year-old cedar trees. The main hall is built dramatically at the base of a towering cliff. Located in Togakushi, Nagano City, it's accessible by car or bus from Nagano Station. Parking is available, with a fee for larger vehicles. Be prepared for a 40-minute walk from the bus stop or parking area to the shrine itself.
