The Megane Bridge, officially known as the Miyamori River Bridge, is a stunning five-arch stone railway bridge located in Tono, Iwate Prefecture. Said to have inspired a scene in Kenji Miyazawa's "Night on the Galactic Railroad," this picturesque bridge is a popular spot for tourists and railway enthusiasts alike. Visitors can enjoy scenic views from the nearby Michi-no-Eki Miyamori, and on select days, witness the SL Ginga steam train pass over the bridge. The bridge is illuminated nightly, creating a romantic atmosphere that led to its designation as a "Lover's Sanctuary" in 2009. Easily accessible from Miyamori Station (5-minute walk) or the Tōwa and Miyamori ICs (15-minute drive), it's a must-see destination in Tono.
