The Hida Furukawa Festival Okoshi Daiko Drum is a key highlight of the Hida Furukawa Festival, a traditional event with over 400 years of history, designated as a National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property. The festival, held annually on April 19th in the town of Furukawa, features the dynamic Okoshi Daiko drum performance at night, followed by a display of ornate festival floats the next day. Visitors can witness traditional karakuri doll performances and children's kabuki. The Okoshi Daiko drum is also on display at the festival plaza next to the Furukawa Festival Museum, where visitors can try playing it for a small fee. The festival attracts around 30,000 spectators each year.
