Located within the Boso-no-Mura open-air museum in Sakae, Chiba, the Former Mikogami Family Residence is a nationally designated Important Cultural Property. Originally relocated from Maruyama Town in the Awa District, this mid-sized farmhouse dates back to 1779-80. Visitors can explore the well-preserved interior, featuring a traditional layout with tatami rooms, an engawa (veranda), and a doma (earth-floored entrance). This residence offers a glimpse into the lifestyle of a farming family during the Edo period. It's an excellent opportunity to experience traditional Japanese architecture and rural heritage. The site is easily accessible by bus from Ajiki Station, followed by a short walk.
