Yagawa Shrine, known as Koka's Amemiya, features a nationally significant two-story gate (Roumon). Located in Konan, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, it's a 10-minute drive from JR Konan Station or 5 minutes from the Konan Interchange on the Shin-Meishin Expressway. Founded in the Nara period, the shrine showcases a beautiful Roumon, though its upper story was lost in a typhoon over 400 years ago. Visitors can enjoy the serene atmosphere and historical architecture, including intricate carvings of tigers and koi. The shrine is particularly lovely during the fall foliage season. The shrine also features beautiful flower displays in the water basins.
