Hokiji Temple, also known as Ikago-dera or Okamoto-dera, is believed to be the site of Prince Shotoku's former detached palace. Its three-story pagoda, completed in 706, is the oldest and largest extant of its kind in Japan and is designated as a National Treasure. Located in Ikaruga, Nara Prefecture, the temple is a 40-minute walk from Horyuji Station or a short bus ride from Koriyama Station. Visitors can enjoy the serene atmosphere and the beautiful cosmos fields that surround the temple in autumn. Admission is ¥300 for adults.
