Saifukuji Temple in Uonuma, Niigata, established in the Muromachi period, is renowned for its Kaisando hall, featuring stunning sculptures by Ishikawa Uncho. Located a 7-minute drive from Koide Station or Koide IC, the temple showcases Uncho's intricate carvings, paintings, and plasterwork. Don't miss the embedded wood art on the main hall's veranda. Open from 9:00 AM (9:30 AM in winter), with a ¥300 entry fee for junior high students and adults. Guided tours are available by reservation for groups of 20 or more.
