Muroiwa Cave, located in Matsuzaki, Shizuoka, is a former stone quarry where Izu stone was mined from the Edo period until 1954. Visitors can explore the cool, damp cave, which features remnants of the quarrying operations and is home to bats. The cave is free to enter and is illuminated from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Be cautious of slippery surfaces inside. A short, steep path leads to the entrance, and a viewpoint at the end of the cave offers scenic views, including Mount Fuji on clear days.
