Karatsu Castle, also known as Maizuru Castle (Crane Dancing Castle), is located within Maizuru Park and offers stunning views from its castle tower. Built by Hirotaka Terasawa, the lord of the Karatsu domain, in 1608, the current castle tower was reconstructed in 1966 and houses a local museum. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Nijinomatsubara pine forest and the picturesque Matsuura River. The castle is accessible via a 20-minute walk from Karatsu Station, with an elevator available for those who prefer not to climb the stone steps. Admission is ¥500 for adults and ¥250 for children.
