Eifuku-ji Temple

Overview

Eifuku-ji Temple, the 57th temple on the Shikoku Pilgrimage, is located in Imabari, Ehime. Founded by the revered monk Kobo Daishi, it's said that he prayed for safety at sea, after which the Amida Nyorai appeared. The temple is known for its "Onegai Jizo" (Wishing Jizo) at the entrance, where visitors can make a wish. The temple grounds feature a main hall, Daishi hall, and other structures arranged on a hillside. A notable feature is the story of a disabled boy who regained his ability to walk at the temple, leading to the enshrinement of his cart. It's best to visit during the day to fully appreciate the temple's serene atmosphere and unique features.
