The Dogawa Bridge is a large concrete bridge spanning the Shimanto River in Kochi Prefecture, serving as a bypass on National Route 56 to alleviate congestion. While it may not evoke the same nostalgic charm as the nearby red iron bridge, it offers stunning views of the expansive Shimanto River. The bridge played a role in history as the site of the Battle of Togawa, where Chosokabe Motochika defeated the Ichijo clan. It's a functional bridge primarily used by vehicles, providing access to the western bank of the Shimanto River from the southern part of Shimanto City. While not a tourist attraction in itself, it's a convenient route for exploring the surrounding area.
