The Kuchi Arima Michishirube, located near Hana no Iwaya Shrine in Kumano, Mie Prefecture, is a designated tangible folk cultural property of Kumano City. This historic signpost, dating back to the Edo period, guided pilgrims on the Kumano Kodo and Saigoku Pilgrimage routes. It warned travelers against taking the dangerous coastal route along Shichiri Beach, which was prone to high tides, and instead directed them to the safer Arima Village main road. Today, it stands as a reminder of the area's rich history and the challenges faced by travelers in the past. It's a small but significant landmark easily visited when exploring the Hana no Iwaya Shrine.
