Kametoku New Port

Overview

Kametoku New Port serves as the sea gateway to Tokunoshima, connecting the island to Kagoshima and Okinawa via ferry. The terminal building is compact but includes a tourist information center, a small shop, and souvenir shop. Located a short walk from the main town of Kametsu, it provides easy access to hotels, car rentals, and local amenities. The port also offers scenic views, especially at sunset, and is sometimes used for surfing. Note that ferry schedules can vary, and alternative ports may be used depending on weather conditions.
