Located in Ofunato, known as a camellia village, the Goishi World Camellia House is home to one of Japan's largest collections of camellias. This indoor facility showcases 700 trees of 550 species from 13 countries. The best time to visit is from mid-January to April when the camellias are in full bloom. In addition to the diverse camellia display, you can also find seasonal plantings, camellia seedlings, goods, and camellia oil for sale. The facility is located a 40-minute bus ride from Sanria SC-mae, or a short car ride from Goishi Coast bus stop. Don't miss the Sanriku Ofunato Camellia Festival, held from late January to late March.
