The Dobashi Gate, or "Black Gate," once served as the rear entrance to Tatebayashi Castle's inner keep. Reconstructed in 1982, it stands as a symbol of the castle town. Located near the Tatebayashi City Office and Cultural Hall, a 15-minute walk from Tatebayashi Station, the gate offers a glimpse into the past. While the castle keep no longer exists, the gate's imposing presence and surrounding earthworks provide a tangible connection to the site's history. Visit the nearby Cultural Hall to view the stone monument of the Tatebayashi Castle ruins, and enjoy a stroll in the San-no-Maru garden. The gate is easily accessible and offers a quick, worthwhile stop.
