Hebifuchi Waterfall, located in the Akiyama-go region of Tsunan Town, Niigata Prefecture, is named after a legend where a hunter mistook a large snake for a log. The waterfall is a scenic spot, especially beautiful during the autumn foliage season. From the parking area, it's a short walk through the countryside followed by a descent down a somewhat steep staircase to reach the observation deck. While the waterfall is viewed from a distance, the surrounding autumn colors and rural landscape make it a worthwhile visit. Be prepared for a bit of a climb on the way back up.
