Explore the historic Numata Castle Ruins, once a strategic stronghold contested by powerful clans like the Uesugi, Hojo, and Takeda. Later, it became the residence of Sanada Nobuyuki, featuring a five-story castle tower, the largest of its time in the Kanto region. The castle is also known for the tale of Komatsuhime, Nobuyuki's wife, who famously turned away her father-in-law, Sanada Masayuki, when he became an enemy during the Battle of Sekigahara. Today, the site is a park where you can see remnants of stone walls and moats, along with seasonal flowers. Located in Numata, Gunma Prefecture, it's a 10-minute drive from Numata IC on the Kanetsu Expressway or an 18-minute walk from Numata Station.
