Suga Falls is a man-made waterfall created in 1654 by diverting water from the Gassan foothills to the Haguro River. Located near the Zuishinmon gate on the path to the Five-Story Pagoda of Mount Haguro, Suga Falls offers a serene and picturesque scene. Visitors can purify themselves in the waters of the Haguro River before ascending the mountain. The combination of the red Shinbashi bridge, the white spray of the waterfall, and the Haraikawa Shrine creates a stunning view, especially vibrant in the fresh greenery after Golden Week. The falls can be viewed up close by crossing the bridge and visiting the small shrine at the base of the falls.
