Shiroyama Park

Overview

Shiroyama Park in Osaki, Miyagi, is a historic site where Date Masamune resided after relocating from Yamagata in 1591. He renamed Iwatasawa to Iwadeyama and made it his base until he moved to Sendai Castle. Today, the park offers scenic views and a peaceful atmosphere. Visitors can explore the remains of Iwadeyama Castle, including the main enclosure, and enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms in spring. The park features a statue of Date Masamune, originally from Aoba Castle in Sendai. Easily accessible from Iwadeyama Station or Yubikan Station on the JR Rikuu East Line, and a 15-minute drive from Furukawa IC on the Tohoku Expressway, it's a perfect spot for a relaxing stroll and historical exploration.
