Toyokuni Shrine in Nagahama is dedicated to Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the lord of Nagahama Castle. Located just a 2-minute walk from JR Nagahama Station, this shrine is easily accessible for tourists. Alongside Hideyoshi, Ebisu is also enshrined, making the shrine particularly lively during the annual Toka Ebisu festival on January 10th. Visitors can also pay respects at the Shusse Inari Shrine, located to the right of the main shrine, to seek good fortune. The shrine holds a warrior procession in the autumn, offering a glimpse into local traditions. A visit to Toyokuni Shrine provides a chance to connect with the history of Nagahama and honor one of Japan's most influential figures.
