Explore the Mt. Kabaki Castle Ruins in Gokase, Miyazaki Prefecture. This historical site, said to have been built by Matasaburo Shibahara, who was active on behalf of the Southern Court, offers a glimpse into the Nanboku-cho period. Located a 15-minute drive from Gokase Town Hall, followed by a 60-minute walk from Koto Shrine in the Kuwanouchi Yokoto area, the ruins provide a rewarding hiking experience. A short 10-minute climb from the parking area leads to the main enclosure, where you can enjoy panoramic views towards Aso. Note that the site is currently closed.
