Mitsuishi Shrine, located in Mishima Hirokoji, is a small shrine nestled along the Genbe River. It's easily accessible from Mishima Hirokoji Station on the Izuhakone Railway. The shrine is known for its connection to a large rock (Mitsuishi) and features the "Toki no Kane" (time bell), which dates back to the Edo period and once signaled the time to the town. The current bell is a post-war reconstruction. The shrine is near the popular Sakura-ya eel restaurant, making it a convenient spot to visit while waiting. The area offers a glimpse into Mishima's history and a peaceful atmosphere by the river.
