Visit the Sorinto Pagoda at Sairenji Temple in Namegata, Ibaraki Prefecture. This slender, 9-meter-tall Buddhist tower, believed to have been erected by Keiben to commemorate victory in the Koan War (Mongol invasions) in 1287, is a designated Important Cultural Property. Along with those at Enryaku-ji Temple on Mount Hiei and Rinno-ji Temple in Nikko, it is one of only three existing structures of its kind. While visiting, also see the temple's ancient ginkgo tree and the Sanmon gate built during the Sengoku period. The pagoda is free to view and accessible by car, 40 minutes from Tsuchiura Kita IC or 45 minutes from Itako IC.
