The Kosode Ama Center is a hub for the northernmost ama divers, reopened in 2015 after being rebuilt following earthquake damage. Located along the scenic Kosode coast, known for its unique rock formations, the center offers visitors the chance to witness ama divers demonstrating their traditional free-diving techniques to harvest sea urchins. The center features a souvenir shop on the first floor, exhibits on the second floor, and a restaurant on the third floor where you can savor local specialties like sea urchin rice bowls and Mamebu soup. Performances are available on weekends and holidays, or by reservation for groups of 10 or more on weekdays. It's about a 30-minute drive from Kuji Station.
