Abe Monju-in Temple, founded in 645, is renowned as one of Japan's three most important Monju (wisdom) temples. The temple's main attraction is the 7-meter-tall wooden sculpture of Monju Bosatsu riding a lion, crafted by Kaikei, and designated as a National Treasure. Visitors can also explore two ancient burial mounds within the temple grounds, including the Monju-in Nishi Kofun, a specially designated historical site. The temple is famous for its cosmos flowers, especially in spring and autumn, creating a picturesque scene with the floating temple hall. Located in Sakurai, Nara, it's a 20-minute walk from Sakurai Station. Admission to the main hall and floating temple is ¥700 each for adults.
