The Machiya Exchange Museum Takada Komachi is a beautifully restored traditional Japanese townhouse (machiya) dating back to the Meiji era. Located in the heart of Takada's historic district, it offers visitors a glimpse into the architecture and lifestyle of the period. Admission is free, making it an ideal spot for a break during your exploration of the castle town. Inside, you'll find tourist information, restrooms, and a rest area. The building itself features unique architectural elements. It's conveniently located across from the Takada World Cinema, one of Japan's oldest movie theaters. Note that some areas may be closed depending on events.
