Shunkosan Enkakuji Temple, located in Fukaura, Aomori, is a historic temple with over 1200 years of history. It's a 20-minute walk from Fukaura Station. Known for its connection to sailors and maritime safety, the temple features rare ship ema (votive tablets). A highlight is the ancient "Ryuto Sugi" cedar tree on the grounds. The temple houses a sacred eleven-faced Kannon statue, believed to be crafted by Prince Shotoku. The temple also has a treasure hall where you can see the ship ema. Admission is ¥400 for adults, with discounts for students and groups.
