Located on the 135th meridian, the Akashi Municipal Planetarium is a museum dedicated to time and space. Visitors can explore exhibits about the meridian and the city's history with timekeeping, as well as enjoy star shows in the planetarium. The planetarium projector is known as the "longest-lived in Japan." The 14th-floor observation deck offers panoramic views of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and the city. Admission is ¥700 for adults, and free for high school students and younger. It is easily accessible, being a 3-minute walk from Hitomarumae Station on the Sanyo Electric Railway.
