The Silk Reeling Memorial Hall, a designated Important Cultural Property of Kiryu City, is housed in Gunma Prefecture's oldest existing Western-style stone building. Formerly the office of a large factory complex, this charming pink building is a 5-minute walk from JR Kiryu Station. Inside, discover exhibits showcasing Kiryu's local history and heritage, including artifacts from archaeological sites and displays about the city's textile industry. Don't miss the special exhibitions on the second floor. Free admission is offered on select days, including the anniversary of the hall's opening (May 3-7), Gunma Prefectural Day (October 28), and Cultural Property Protection Emphasis Week (November 1-5).
