Mishaka Pond, also known as Goishikachi, is a serene and picturesque artificial pond nestled in the Okutateshina area of Chino, Nagano Prefecture. Famous as the inspiration for the painter Kaii Higashiyama's work "Green Echo," this tranquil spot reflects the surrounding larch forests and mountains on its still surface, creating a stunning mirror-like effect. The pond is easily accessible by car (45 minutes from Suwa IC) or taxi (30 minutes from Chino Station). While swimming and approaching the water's edge are prohibited, visitors can enjoy the views from the walking paths. The best time to visit is on a calm day to capture the perfect reflections, with spring and autumn offering particularly beautiful scenery. Parking is available for both regular and large vehicles.
