Nii-no-Hama Beach is known as one of Japan's cleanest beaches, featuring fine white sand and stunning emerald-to-cobalt blue waters. It's a popular spot for both swimming and surfing after the official swim season ends. According to local legend, the beach is named after Lady Nii, who tragically drowned herself and the young Emperor Antoku during the Genpei War. A monument dedicated to her stands near the beach. The area is also the northernmost habitat for the Japanese spider lily on the Sea of Japan side, which blooms in summer, adding color to the landscape. Located in Nagato, Yamaguchi, it's accessible by car or a short drive from Nagato-Furuichi Station. Visit during the summer for swimming or later in the year for surfing.
