The Nishi-no-Kawahara Open-Air Bath in Kusatsu, Gunma Prefecture, is one of Japan's largest open-air baths, offering a unique and spacious bathing experience. Located in Nishi-no-Kawahara Park, about a 15-minute walk from Yubatake, it features naturally flowing hot spring water known for its strong acidity. Note that there are no showers or washing areas available. The bath is open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, but is closed for maintenance in June. It's an ideal spot to relax in nature, especially enjoyable in the morning or evening when the temperatures are mild. Bathing suits are not allowed except during designated co-ed times on Friday evenings.
