Nunobiki Kannon, also known as Nunobiki-yama Shakuson-ji Temple, is a historic temple in Komoro, Nagano Prefecture, famous as the origin of the "Cow-led to Zenkoji Temple" legend. The main highlight is the Kannondo Hall, built dramatically on a cliffside, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Reaching the hall involves a scenic but challenging 15-20 minute uphill walk from the parking area, so comfortable shoes are recommended. The temple is particularly beautiful during the fresh green season and autumn foliage. Be aware that the path can be slippery, especially in colder months. For those with mobility issues, there is a narrow forest road that leads closer to the main hall.
